Are any of the government house buying schemes likely to help single people really struggling to get the mortgage they need to buy or move house?

Schemes such as shared ownership have been encouraged by government to help first-time buyers

Government backed and privately operated affordable housing schemes aimed at helping social tenants, key workers and other first time buyers onto the property ladder; generally people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to purchase a home.

All First-time buyers, (single or otherwise) with an income of less than £60,000 who can’t buy a home on the open market are eligible to apply for them.
