What are the Worst Times to Book Flights and Travel Abroad for Solo Travellers?
Travelling on your own can be scary, I know, but it can also be one of the most exciting and wonderful things you do. Personally, I’m someone who has always loved to travel, whether it’s just exploring the corners of UK or jetting off to different lands.
Whilst travelling for a solo traveller can be tricky at any time, particularly with the extra “single supplements” you’ll need to think about, there are times when travelling can be more of a headache. So, what do you need to factor into your preparations and so avoid the absolute worst times to travel?
While the answer to that question can vary, depending on things like where you’re going and what you want to avoid, We’ve put together this quick guide to help you plan your holiday schedule.
Avoiding the Worst Times to Fly as a Solo Traveller
Choosing the best time to travel, and avoiding the worst times to fly can be complicated. It’s not just the time of year you need to think about, but the day, and even the time of your flight. Plus, on top of that, there are different nuances to consider depending on where you’re going. National events at your destination, such as the World Cup, Hanami Festivals in Japan, Oktoberfest in Germany, and so on can also play a role in the cost and complexity of travel.
Our best advice? Do your research really early!
Don’t just think about the best time to travel for your schedule, (or the schedule of any family or friends you’re bringing with you). Look at the best times to travel based on where you’re going, the flight costs, and the level of demand there’ll be for hotels and accommodation.
The more research you do in advance the more likely you are to end up with the best price for your flight, and the best experience overall. Enjoy!
