Let’s Help Cinemas Bounce Back after Lockdown
There’s nothing quite like seeing a brilliant movie on a big screen. With the weather not so great and the on/off holiday situation, with new safety measures in place this could be a good time to think about supporting the leisure industry by treating yourself to a cinema ticket and maybe even one of those enormous tubs of popcorn.
Planned easements at Step 3 of the Roadmap to go ahead, – cinemas permitted to open their doors at 50% capacity
May the 24th be with you, D Day for Cinemas right across the UK
One of many indoor entertainment venues now back in business in line with official guidance, cinemas in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland have now been able to reopen their doors for the first time in months so we can finally see new releases again on the big screen. As with all indoor events cinemas are limited to 50% capacity with safety measures including social distancing and face masks still required.
Magic of the Movies – What’s On?
Although not all of the Oscar winning films or the latest Bond movie we’ve been patiently waiting for a chance to see aren’t available to view just yet, there are some great films to see. Oscar winning films include Nomadland described as a ‘quietly compelling road move and Mirani about a Korean-American farming family who start a new life in 1980s Arkansas (seems to be a bit of a theme here!). If you’re looking for something a bit more action-packed other films include Sound of Metal, Mortal Kombat and Those Who Wish Me Dead with Angelina Jolie, – or even the top box office hit this week, Peter Rabbit 2 (no comment from us on this one). No Time to Die which has been rescheduled three times and rumoured to be costing MGM around $1M a month in interest payments is now due for release in October.
